Dollaride Product Redesign
Project Overview
Dollaride, a transportation startup serving NYC’s transit deserts, needed a driver-focused mobile app redesign to improve real-time communication, simplify navigation, and empower drivers with better control over earnings and passenger management. My team’s goal was to design a streamlined, mobile-first experience that increased usability and driver satisfaction, while matching their existing passenger-focused app.

The Challenge
The existing driver app lacked:
Real-time updates and passenger tracking
Clear workflows for pick-ups and drop-offs
A transparent earnings dashboard for cash-out and income tracking
Drivers often faced confusion and delays due to limited features and lack of user-friendly navigation.
The Process
Discovery: Conducted interviews with real-time Dollaride drivers and external drivers to identify pain points, focusing on communication gaps and earnings transparency.
Competitive Analysis: Studied similar and industry leading ride-share platforms to define best practices.
Wireframing & Prototyping: Created mid-fi and hi-fi wireframes with a responsive, intuitive design.
Usability Testing: Iteratively tested prototypes, improving key features such as earnings visibility, passenger tracking, and notifications.
Design Enhancements: Delivered a clean UI, updated style guide, and added features like instant cash-out and voice activation for hands-free operation.
The Results
Improved Driver Experience: Simplified navigation and real-time updates increased driver efficiency.
Enhanced Financial Control: Added instant cash-out and easy earnings tracking.
Positive Feedback: Drivers reported the app was "simple, fast, and essential to daily operations."
Client Satisfaction: Dollaride’s leadership appreciated the clarity of workflows and user-first design, noting a significant improvement in usability.
